Darts may be free, but I’m afraid it’s a rip-off.
The graphics are pretty impressive – the dartboard looks like a photograph and the darts look like the real thing. And if it weren’t for that, this would be my first ‘no star’ game.
You have your choice of two classic dart games, Cricket or your choice of a few ‘01’ games, which for you non-dart throwers means you count down from a pre-determined number like 301 and the first person to get exactly zero wins the match.
These are two of the best dart games, and it still misses the mark. I just can’t get into it. Before you throw a dart by dragging your finger up the screen and flicking it, you place crosshairs over the spot you’re aiming for. Funny thing is, you can’t even see the spot you place it on because your finger is covering a whole third of the detailed dartboard. So you move your finger around and stare at the top of the screen until the text reflects what you’d like to hit. Sounds fun, right?
The vague directions tell you to flick your finger at least halfway up the screen, but even if you do the exact same thing twice in a row, it seems as if your shots will end up in different places.
I can’t tell you not to waste your money on darts, but I can tell you not to waste your time.
